    1. Construction of FFU

    An FFU is a self-contained, modular air purification device primarily consisting of the following components:

     

    1.1. Housing

       Normally made of aluminum-zinc coated steel.

       Designed to be lightweight yet robust, with a slim profile for easy integration into cleanroom ceiling grids.

       The interior is often baffled to ensure uniform airflow distribution across the filter.

     

    1.2. DC Fan System

       Utilizes one high-efficiency, low-noise DC motor.

       DC Motor offer superior energy efficiency, precise speed control, and long service life compared to traditional AC motor.

       The fan is designed for stable operation and provide a consistent pressure drop to overcome system resistance.

     

    1.3. Filtration System

       Equipped with a primary pre-filter (typically G4 grade) to capture larger particles and extend the life of the main filter.

       The core component is a HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter or ULPA (Ultra-Low Penetration Air) filter.

       HEPA filter is certified to remove at least 99.95% of particles as small as 0.3 micrometers.

       The filter is securely sealed within the housing to prevent bypass leakage.

     

    1.4. Control System

       Individual Unit Control: Each FFU can be equipped with a manual speed controller (potentiometer) or a more advanced digital controller with a display.

       Group Control System (Optional): Multiple FFUs can be networked and controlled centrally via a Building Management System (BMS) or a dedicated DDC (Direct Digital Control) system. This allows for monitoring and adjusting airflow, monitoring filter status, and managing alarms across the entire cleanroom.
